For construction companies and subcontractors in New Zealand and Australia

One tap to clock in. Hours worked out automatically. Nothing to reconcile on payday.

Workers tap once on site and are clocked out when they leave. Lunch, overtime and rounding follow the company rules. Timesheets are ready when the pay period closes. No approvals, and every edit is on record.

All features included in the trial. No card required.

Clock in

Kept on the phone without signal, uploaded later

Step 1

Clock in

Open the app on site. GPS matches the nearest site and one tap starts the clock. Without signal the record is kept on the phone and uploaded later.

Step 2

Calculate

Early arrivals count from the start time, lunch is deducted, overtime follows the company rule and hours round to 15 minutes. Leaving the geofence clocks the worker out.

Owner app

Set the rules once. Hatplan applies them.

  • On site, not arrived and finished at a glance
  • Send everyone home in one tap when it rains
  • Workers without a phone attend by site schedule
  • Edit any record; every edit is on record
  • Pay periods close and push automatically
  • Schedules, worker types and exports in the back office

Features

Geofence clock-out

Each site has a radius. Leaving it clocks the worker out, so rain, waiting for materials or a missed tap never adds hours.

Offline clock-in

Without signal the original time is stored on the phone and uploaded once online, without duplicates or losses.

Workers without a phone

Attendance follows the site schedule. Leave, half days and proxy clock-ins are limited to the owner and nominated staff, and name who did it.

Edit trail

Who changed what, when, from what to what and why. Disputes are settled before payday.

Employee, hourly and subcontract

Each worker has a type. At period close employees push to the CRM, hourly workers get a payables list and subcontractors keep an attendance log.

Chinese and English

Workers in Chinese, managers in English, the same data for both. Timesheet PDFs in Chinese, English or side by side.

Built for the trades

Time is counted by site and geofence, whatever the work. Builders, subcontractors and labour crews run on the same rules.

New Zealand employment law

Meets wages and time record requirements

Employers must keep a record of the hours worked each day and the pay for those hours. Every Hatplan record carries arrival, paid time, break deductions, location and its edit history, exportable per worker or per site.

Wages and time records →
  • Hours worked each day and the pay for them (Employment Relations Act 2000, s 130)
  • Wages and time records kept for 6 years
  • Rest and meal breaks (Employment Relations Act 2000, Part 6D)
  • Hours attached to subcontractor payment claims (Construction Contracts Act 2002)

Security and data

Encrypted connections

All traffic is served over HTTPS. Clock-in photos are stored privately and opened through short-lived links.

Owner-controlled access

The company admin decides who can clock in for others and who can edit records. Leavers are deactivated at once.

Data portability

Attendance records and their edit history can be exported at any time, including after the subscription ends.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after the 14-day trial?

The first invoice is issued for the chosen cycle and is due in 7 days. If unpaid, the account becomes read-only 14 days after the due date; existing records and exports stay available and full access returns on payment.

What about workers without a smartphone?

Set the worker to attend by site schedule in the back office. Leave, half days and changes are recorded by the owner or nominated staff, and the record names who entered it.

Does it work on Huawei and Xiaomi phones?

Yes. Android phones without Google services are guided through background settings on first launch, and missed clock-out reminders are sent by SMS. The installer is available as a direct download.

What if a worker forgets to clock out?

Leaving the site geofence clocks the worker out at the time they left. The record can still be corrected the next day; corrections apply at once and are logged for the owner.

Do prices include GST?

Prices shown exclude GST. Invoices add 15% GST and are issued as tax invoices.

Can the subscription be cancelled?

Yes, at any time from the billing page. Access continues to the end of the paid period, after which the account becomes read-only and records remain exportable.
